What does Love got to do with it?
So many people want to love and be loved, but they approach it from a space of fear, with their guard up, expecting it will still somehow make its way in. It will never work like that. The first step toward what you want is acceptance of where you are, my friends.
Fear is love’s opposition, not hatred. Hatred is bred in fear, like a soup that stews, and then boils over. Fear of the other, fear of the what if, fear of the unknown, fear of heartbreak, fear of whatever. This is what is keeping you from allowing real love into your life, and settling for less.
It’s what keeps you choosing your own resentment over and over, expecting others to climb walls you refuse to stop building higher. You want to love and be loved? Conquer your fears. Listen to your insecurities and triggers, get to know them well, so you can stop allowing them to control your life.
Be patient and kind to yourself as you do it because it’s a life long process, and you don’t have to stress about “arriving” some day. It’s okay to be human.
It’s true that you have flaws. We all do. It’s equally true you can accept that about yourself and grow and learn from those flaws, which are mostly just impersonal cycles that have been passed down to us, and taught to us as truth.
