I am going to do a series on each Rising or Ascendant Sign and the soul purpose of that sign. Your Rising Sign is your soul, and it’s what you’re meant to evolve into this lifetime. The rest of your chart can tell us more about how you’re meant to evolve it, the challenges and triumphs you may face along the way, but as a general rule the mission itself is the same.

I am just choosing random signs now, and there is no real reason for the order. Leo Rising and Scorpio Rising have already been posted. Now we’re going to discuss the life purpose of a Cancer Rising.

As a Cancer rising your descendant is Capricorn in the 7th house. This tells us a couple things. First it lets us know your intimate relationships are going to be hard. You may tend to date older people, but regardless of age they will be a test of your will. A lot of this has to do with Scorpio in your fifth house, too.

You are here to learn to forgive, to heal, to express yourself from the heart, and to stop being possessive and smothering. You are more comfortable suppressing feelings in favor of working hard, trying to leave a mark on the world, and being motivated to succeed materially. That’s what you did in a past life. You suppressed emotions and worked hard.

In this life you’re meant to switch that around. To develop a soft, motherly, caring nature. With Scorpio in the fifth house of love, romance, pleasure, and children you are going to learn a lot about how to do this through intense, transformative relationships that shake you to the core.

You may even find yourself in situations where you feel you have to parent or mother your partner, or prefer them to parent and mother you. This can lead to jealousy and possessiveness that is unhealthy. Some of you will learn instead through having children of your own. In any case, you are being pushed to awaken your emotional side.

It’s likely you spend most of your life connected emotionally to your work, goals, and dreams. It’s time to become emotionally connected to people. We can tell by Sagittarius in your sixth house that one way you’re going to learn this is through battle, competition, and conflict. Emotional difficulty will follow you until you learn emotional intelligence and vulnerability.

We know with Pisces in your 9th house that the soul purpose is for you to realize nothing is a personal as it feels and forgive those who have hurt you. Your Virgo in the third house makes you critical and judgmental. Instead of changing internally you’re more comfortable trying to change your external world. Your hair, your clothes, your home, people. You may love big pets, too.

Cancer Rising is here to heal some of the divine masculine traits like thinking vulnerability is weakness, numbing their feelings, controlling or smothering others, escapism, and having too much pride. Leo in the second lets us know it’s part of your mission to heal those parts of yourself. This is critical if you’re trying to grow into a softer, more receptive energy.

Gemini in your 12th house tells us that the way you achieve your soul purpose is learning to speak straight from the heart. Until you do this your relationships will mostly remain karmic in nature as the lesson hasn’t been learned. You can only control yourself, and you can’t save other people from themselves. Healthy boundaries on yourself and them are needed.

You are here to take the lead in some way. To pioneer, offer enlightened ideas, and new ways of being in the space of emotion. Your mission at its core is emotional development. You’re meant to lead us into the evolution of human consciousness through emotional intelligence.

You are here to nourish yourself and those around you with your soul light. To become aware of your soul light and use it. Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac, all about foundations, family, and feelings. “I feel” is your motto. It’s the first sign we come to where we start to recognize feelings at all. It’s the first sign that tells us a soul even exists. You teach people they have a soul.

One challenge you have is that you’re moody because you’re ruled by the Moon and able to tap into mass consciousness. This makes you wary and want to demand complete surety that you’re safe before you feel. Otherwise you will withhold emotion or over-react emotionally. You feel your feelings and everyone else’s around you.

Keep your focus on your own inner light. This trait of being able to feel what others feel is a key to unlocking your highest spiritual purpose and the ego-based issues at the personality level. It’s not easy, but your task is to cultivate your intuition. To tap into the mass consciousness, yet hear your own voice above the crowd that rushes toward you.

You have a lot of fear. This is likely to be stronger in the mornings because your mind is mostly quiet upon waking. If there is fear rippling through the world you’re going to feel it. Your first act of courage everyday is simply getting out of bed. It can take everything in you.

You are literally THE sign of emotional intelligence, so part of your mission is learning how to navigate through the emotional frequencies. This helps you move your attention from the collective fear into your own light again when you tend to get caught up.

You learn through your experiences that compassion is not just some idea, but a real thing that you can allow to flow through your heart. That by allowing this you change the emotions of the collective conscious. You are here to bring spiritual nourishment to the world. To transcend fear and come to know the divine essence of compassion. To share your heart space.

Like Leo Rising you are meant to bring unconditional love to the world. First you must overcome your fear of attachment, gain emotional intelligence, and fine-tune your intuition. You love the feeling of home, but home is found when you learn to focus on that soul light within.

Namaste
