Paxlovid for Covid
Last Monday I woke up sick. Tuesday morning I was positive for Covid. I called my doctor to see if I would qualify for the antibody treatment. She stated she wanted me to start Paxlovid instead. I was warned of the potential of rebound Covid happening and told it’s less than a one percent chance. However, I’ve come to believe through study it’s far greater than one percent.
There were concerns I had going into the treatment. It’s experimental for starters. It was given emergency authorization based on one study. The side effects seemed mild from what I read, however, so I decided to take it. I figured any help preventing Covid from getting severe was worth it. I wish I had listened to my intuition.
I took my first dose of three pills Wednesday evening. On Thursday I took both doses. I woke up Friday feeling much better. Then out of nowhere I began to experience strange symptoms that seemed neurological. Walking back to my bedroom with food I began to feel odd.
I felt I was having an out of body experience. It felt as if something strange were coursing through my body. There was tingling and everything felt surreal. I took my 4th dose of Paxlovid after eating and didn’t feel any better. I napped all day to avoid feeling what I was feeling.
