Dearest You,
I know you are carrying some incredibly heavy burdens, and many of them are not your own. You’ve worn the expectations of others your entire life, and maybe it’s time you lay them down. If you refuse to do so this will only lead you to cause your own resentment and pain. To further find yourself lost in escapism and projecting the blame. It’s time for accountability.
You have to stop seeking to heal your trauma through trauma bonds. I promise you that your shadow is just your inner child, and while they are trying to keep you safe, no one ever showed them how that’s done. It’s not through other people. It’s okay to admit where you are, and that it’s not where you want to be. This is the first step to real change.
The truth is safety and security doesn’t even exist. No one can promise you that you will get through it. No one can tell you for sure that everything is going to be alright. No one can hold your hand through life if you want your life to mean something. You can’t be a follower. It’s time to step up and lead.
If I could grant you anything in this moment it would be to fully realize your own potential. To understand that your past is nothing more than an indication of how you dealt with your trauma. It says nothing about your worth. It says nothing about who you are today, or who you have the potential to be in the future. You are one decision away from a…
