The Moon is something I wrote poetry about for years, before ever leaning into astrology. She often felt like my only friend. I wish I could go back and find all of those poems, but I deleted them a long time ago. Overall I have no regrets. I did it because I am no longer that woman.

No longer the woman who was always sad, longing, and living in fear-based spaces of never being good enough. Of my only pride being in the fact that I was still alive after everything I’d been through. The story I told myself and wrote about through poetry held me back for years.

I always wrote better poetry when I was in a lower vibration. The words just seemed to fall from my tongue or be typed faster than I could blink. Writing became my favorite escape. Reading the poetry of others, who also wrote best when raw and real, got me through some incredibly lonely times. But, it kept me in a victim state of mind.

Of course, my own Moon is in Virgo and conjunct the most melancholic planet of them all, Saturn. To me, becoming a martyr for others was the only way to be a good nurturer, to prove I cared, and the resentment I felt meant they needed to appreciate me more, and when they didn’t I spoke to my own victimhood, and I sought out others who would do the same.

Virgo season is the season we transition from light to dark. The descent into the underworld is…
